So far I am enjoying the characters, vivid setting, and well-researched historical details. It reminds me a bit of #downtonabbey Thank you to @getredpr and @stmartinspress #partner for gifting me a copy of this book. I’ll post an update with my review next week. QOTD: Do you like rereading books you first read as a child? Harry’s dad is reading this aloud to him at the moment. I hadn’t revisited this particular book in the series in years. I think it might be my favorite. I still love this series, even though it can be problematic (sexism for one). I still dream of finding a doorway to Narnia. I immediately thought of the March sisters. The relationship between them, their family dynamic, the overcoming of obstacles, and strength in the face of hardship is just so very human, and timeless. Did you guys know there’s going to be a new Little Women film next year? QOTD: which of the four March sisters are you most like? Which is your favorite and why? I’ll share five things about me for #decemberreflections2018 and then you can decide which sister you think I’m like. 😄 1. I have always wanted to be a writer. 2. I have never felt like I fit in with my peers. I’m an old soul who has never appreciated trends or contemporary popular culture. 3. I need to spend time in nature in order to feel okay. 4. I like solitude and even thrive when I have lots of time to myself. 5. I tend to prefer animals to people. 🙊
